The definition of genocide is “ the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.” What is happening in Gaza is exactly that, a genocide. The atrocities committed by Israel can no longer be excused as “defense” as over 39,000 Palestinians have been murdered. Around 75% of the populations are estimated to be displaced, although most have already been displaced several times. That’s nearly 1.7 MILLION people who have lost their homes, their lives and their families.

Here are just a few horrific things Israel has done so far:

Israel had designated Rafah, a city in the southern Gaza strip, a safe zone. However, during the super bowl, while millions of Americans were distracted, Israel bombed Rafah. 

Hind Rajab, a 6 year old palestinian girl was killed after witnessing the brutal murder of her family. She was on the phone for 3 hours with emergency services. Red Crescent sent an ambulance to her and when they arrived, Israel ordered a strike on Hind and her rescuers.

Sidra, a 7 year old palestinian girl had her legs blown off and was hung on a wall by Israeli soldiers. Displayed like a trophy by the country that is trying to convince you that they are still only defending themselves from Hamas. What were two 6 and 7 year old girls going to do in all this? Is this really who you need to defend yourself from?

You can not in good conscience see what is going on and think this is anything but a genocide. Israel is committing war crimes and murdering innocent people who just want to live their lives in peace and safety. Instead they are being starved and murdered with no sign of ceasefire in sight.
